Do you think she was lying about calling me pretty?

lately, ive been suffering from extremely low self esteem and im really weary about the things people say. Anyways, my school guidance called me down to talk about me graduating this year and making sure i have enough credits..when i came in, she said "oh and your such a pretty girl"...do people just say this? Especially people in this field of work
