I can't get Ares Vista to connect?

I just barely downloaded the newest version of Ares Vista. I cannot get it to connect. I have tried all the suggestions regarding uninstalling and reinstalling as well as fixing my firewall. It still won't work. Please help. I'm so irritated I spent money on this and can't get it to work.
