A question about Hell and no wise cracks needed as this is a serious question.

My Question is how do you percieve or believe Hell is like.I understand and fully know what the Fundementalist believe but would like to see what others believe and have no need for the normal it's a fable and so forth. I understand the language of the middle east is used differently than westerners understand it.Example when we were getting ready to invade Iraq Saddam used the expression the desert fire will burn and destroy them.Hell according to some means the Grave or some kind of burial. In my personal understanding of Hell i believe it is a mental Torture of unexplainable regret for the road you chose to travel in life and with a knowledge of the incredible Joy of those who chose Gods way.Imagine lets say you love your Mother or Father very much and want to spend eternity with them but because you done so much bad that they could never trust you again and never allow you to be with them ever again and how horrible it would feel.Now take that and make it thousands of time worse and it is for ever and seeing your other family members happier than they've ever could have been but you've locked your fate in. This is how i see Hell and can call it a torment like Fire would be to the desert people. Your answers please and hold back if you can on the hate that seems to come out of those who see any one disagreeing to there personal biblical interpretations of the Bible.Also there is a parable with a similar position about Lazarus and the rich man.
