PittBull woes..........?

my 8 & a half to 9 month old pittbull WONT stop pooping on my floor, no matter HOW many times i put him out. I put him out every 1/2 hour, & yet he still comes in & poops! we adopted him a month ago, by a neighbor that starved him & let them run around. but i have this dog in the house at night, where he faithfully sleeps by my side of the bed, but i get up to poop.. everywhere. he is not a small dog, He is probably bigger then he should be but.. My husband is so frustrated that he wants to get rid of him, & im frustrated, but know that my pit, ( male) feels safe here, he looks at me like he knows we saved him. & he loves my other dogs. how can I both train him in a hurry to stop pooping on my carpets , & do it in the yard, & how can i possibly crate train him when he yelps so loud its like he is screaming! my poor husband has to work, & i dont want to get rid of the pitt as The pup & I have grown close & he Is already very protective of me when my husband is at work at night? which, in my neighborhood i need all i can get for protection.
