Will my speech impediment go away?

I am 16 years old, I have a problem with my /r/ sound and especially when there is a vowel before the r and also I cannot hear the problem with my /r/ sound and it sounds just fine to me. I can hear other people who have the problem with the /r/ sound but I cannot hear my own problem. Will I be able to fix my problem, also I have been kicked out of my speech cl in school because they think I am too good but I know it is not good. Will it ever be fixed and how will I go about fixing it.
