Ok I need historical and interesting books ?

Ok after reading Da Vinci's code a few months ago I always was interested about learning about our history . I read a few things here and there , for Da Vinci's bio to different views about his paintings and the true meaning . Now I want to go deeper , read about witch craft and them burning the women , lies of religions and all that . What do you recommend ?
